Is aviation ready to fly with artificial intelligence?

03 Nov, 2026

Artificial intelligence is no longer a promise for the future of aviation. It is already helping optimize routes, anticipate safety risks and transform air traffic management. To explore how the aviation, aerospace and air transport sectors are embracing these technologies, IAviación, organized by T5MAD and Aviación Digital, with Indra as lead sponsor and Telefónica as host company, and ALG as sponsor and collaborator, will hold its second edition on November 10 in Madrid.

Following a successful first edition that brought together more than 100 industry professionals, IAviación returns as an in-person event featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions and practical workshops focused on the impact of artificial intelligence across key areas including air traffic management, operational safety, drones, predictive maintenance and regulation. The event will bring together representatives from ICAO, Eurocontrol, ENAIRE, AESA and DGAC, alongside leading aviation experts and industry stakeholders.

The conference will be officially opened by Benito Núñez Quintanilla, Secretary General for Air and Maritime Transport, followed by an opening keynote delivered by Indra, the event's main sponsor, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in the future of air traffic management.

Featured sessions will include discussions on key topics such as Safety Intelligence, AI adoption across the air transport sector, drones and U-space, and the impact of AI on human factors, alongside practical workshops and live demonstrations. The programme will also include a presentation on AI-driven predictive maintenance, a practical workshop on the most valuable AI tools for aviation professionals led by Saúl Gómez Jiménez, and a live drone demonstration on wildfire monitoring and prevention presented by Telefónica.

ALG, sponsor and collaborator of the event, will play a relevant role throughout the programme by participating in two of its most strategic discussions. Núria Alsina, Principal at ALG, will moderate the panel "Accelerating AI adoption in the air transport sector: regulation and certification", focused on the regulatory, organizational and technological challenges shaping the implementation of artificial intelligence across the industry. In addition, Antonio Cabeza, Senior Manager at ALG, will participate in the panel "Safety Intelligence and AI: from isolated data to predictive risk management", exploring how advanced analytics and artificial intelligence are helping aviation organizations anticipate risks, improve decision-making and strengthen operational safety.

The second edition of IAviación will take place on 10 November 2026, from 09:00 to 17:00, at La Cabina, Distrito Telefónica, Madrid. The event will bring together professionals from the aviation, aerospace, technology, and air transport sectors to share real-world use cases, discuss key regulatory challenges and explore the opportunities created by artificial intelligence across the industry.
