ALG has just been recognised as an approved Flight Procedure Designer (FPD) by AESA (Spanish Authority) according to EASA regulation 2017/373. Until 2017, the Flight Procedure Design (FPD) service lacked a common framework within the European regulatory environment for the homogenisation of service providers in the field of air navigation, allowing any company or professional with sufficient experience to develop these services. From that date onwards, providers are required to adhere to the regulation in order to be able to operate in Europe.
This certification is supervised and certified by the Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aerea (AESA) in Spain by delegation and until September 2023 it had only granted two design certificates: ENAIRE, the public provider of air navigation services; and INECO, a Spanish public company owned by ADIF, Renfe and ENAIRE itself, being at the same time its main provider of this type of services. ALG thus becomes the first private company to be certified in the flight procedure design service.
The certification involves the definition of a broad procedural framework that includes all aspects related to the provision of the design service, from the technical aspects of the tools, to the requirements that must be met to those related to the training of designers, the workflow and the resources necessary for its delivery within the appropriate quality parameters, such as ensuring the highest level of operational safety.
